Fundraising Concert & Clinics for High Schools Chad offers
2 different clinics in the afternoon before the evening concert for the student musicians. In many cases backing or grants
for these Concerts & Clinics can be received. Clinic
#1: Chad offers a drum clinic to share his concepts and practice
techniques. Chad also shares his experience from the drummer's seat
on playing with a band, backing soloists, drum solos, backing singers, and leading a band. Chad
will discuss the importance of picking the right equipment for your music and talk about the history of drums
and drummers that lead to today's drums and drummers. Clinic #2:
Chad and select members of the band will offer the student musicians a different
perspective and build upon what they’re doing with the idea that "everything they’re doing is cool.
" We give them other concepts to think about. Whatever they can use, use it. We look to compliment what you're teaching.
If there are certain things you'd like stressed, we'll be glad to incorporate those things into our clinic. Chad likes
to impart to student-musicians the addition of horns in their music, something that has continued from the
Big Band era to bands like Chicago, Blood Sweat and Tears, Tower of Power, and heard with the popularity
of Jazz Band programs in High School and College. Horns add a very cool element to any arrangement. Concert: Our concert
will consist of original pieces plus new arrangements of classic tunes. This is not your grandpa’s Big Band,
but a sleek, high energy modern big band. We play great tunes and we'll throw in a drum solo or two. Chad enjoys the interaction and mentoring of music students , to give them the kind of inside, professional
instruction he got touring on the road. “That’s what I learned from back then,” Rager said. “You teach the next generation.”
